Accessibility

IRONSmith wants ironsmith.io to work for everyone, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or other assistive technology.
Standard
The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the W3C. This is a self-assessment; the site has not been audited by a third party.
How the site is built and tested
- Semantic HTML: one main heading per page, landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), real links and buttons, and a skip link.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and links meet WCAG AA color contrast.
- Animation is reduced when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Pages reflow on small screens and when zoomed, without sideways scrolling.
- Every change is checked automatically with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 A and AA before it is published, on desktop and phone sizes.
Known limitations
- Brick Breaker is a fast action game drawn on a canvas. It can be played with the arrow keys and space bar, or by touch, but it does not work with a screen reader.
- Products and sites linked from here (Flavor Forge, MapTube, The Forge on Substack, and social networks) are separate sites and are not covered by this statement.
